A Halloween Garden
in InspirationHalloween is coming up, and lots of us like to have some fun and decorate our outdoor areas. If you are really into Halloween, come by our store in Surrey, and check out our seasonal decorations. We might have just what you’re looking for.
But, if you are more into the DIY décor thing, then today’s blog article is for you. We are going to give you some ideas for easy and inexpensive ways to decorate your yard for Halloween.
Pumpkins!
This is the season for pumpkins, and nothing can beat pumpkins for inspiring that Halloween feeling. The good news about pumpkins is that if you do not cut into them, they will last a long time outside, months even, if they are not getting too hot during the day and frozen at night. You could always paint the outside of them or just leave them plain. Pile them up! Put them everywhere.
If you keep them at room temperature, they will last about a month. If you cut them, then figure a week or two at the most. If you keep them whole, then you can always cut them at a later date to cook the flesh or roast the seeds.
Window Decorations
You can cut up shapes from heavy-stock paper or vinyl to decorate your windows, inside or out. Bats, cats, brooms, spiders, and ghosts are all appropriate for Halloween. You can even decorate your garage door.
Lights
Do you put up Christmas lights? How about Halloween lights? Put your lights up early this year and have fun. You can even put strings of lights in your shrubs or trees. If you have a deck, decorate that for Halloween.
Ghosts
Ghosts are always easy to make using old sheets and a balloon for a head. You can paint your sheets or just cut holes for eyes. Ghosts can sit on your porch, sit with pumpkins, and hang from trees. The sky is the limit.
Yard
Don’t forget all the headstones you need for your yard. Just cut out and paint some heavy-stock paper or poster board, and you can have a personalized and crowded cemetery in your yard. A plastic or paper skeleton can lounge in your wheelbarrow.
You can have a lot of fun decorating your home exterior for Halloween. We hope we have inspired you to have a ghoulish time of it.
