The History and Background of the Jacuzzi Hot Tub Brand

in Outdoor Living

The experience of soaking in hot water has been documented throughout the history of mankind.  Native Americans would enjoy a nice warm soak in naturally occurring hot springs, and believed the warm waters had sacred healing powers. The Romans built bath houses in their cities and the citizens would enjoy a daily bath while socializing with friends and peers.  The Egyptians, Turks and Greeks also developed bath houses as a way of cleaning the body and finding a relaxing experience.

The Birth of the Jacuzzi

It was in 1925 that the Jacuzzi brothers began inventing water pumps and water system solutions. Little did they know they were about to embark on a hot tub invention that would become a household name around the world. The pump industry was revolutionized as their designs for jet pumps won awards in in the years to come. After a few decades of experience and refining their water pump designs, in 1956 one of the Jacuzzi brothers asked for a hydrotherapy solution for pain relief from arthritis.  Their expertise and cutting edge designs of hydraulic pumps led to what we know of today as the “Jacuzzi Hot Tub®” – a tub that supplies a mixture of warm water and air bubble jets to sooth, massage, and relieve aching muscles and joints.

By the 1970’s the Jacuzzi family produced a larger bathing tubs for the public and Jacuzzi® was borne. It could be easily installed in homes and would end up being sold around the world and, could be enjoyed by people seeking pain relief in the privacy of their home, or groups of bathers in a social setting.

To this day, the Jacuzzi® Hot Tub is recognized for relaxation and stress relief, speedy recovery of injuries, and promotes the flow of endorphins.  It is easy to maintain, adds aesthetic and entertainment value to your patio or living area, and can be enjoyed by small or large groups. That’s why the Jacuzzi® is the most popular hot tub in the world.
