Tips for a Backyard Summer Oasis

in Outdoor Living

The sun is setting later these days and, like everyone else in the Lower Mainland, you want to get outside and enjoy your backyard. After a hard day of work, you want to get outside, crack open a cold one, light up the barbecue, and relax.

You’re looking for an oasis, a respite from the pressures of everyday life. Here are a few tips to help you get that oasis you’re looking for:

1.    Shade is your friend
No one wants a farmer tan, or worse, a farmer burn. You want to be able to sit outside and enjoy the heat without worrying about your skin turning a bright shade of red. So why not get a lovely gazebo or pergola (a shaded sitting area made of vertical posts, support beams, and a lattice)? It makes your backyard look even prettier and provides much needed shade. Place all your outdoor furniture underneath and you’ve got a nice place to hang out.

2.    Why not add a fire?
Everyone loves sitting around a fire, so why not add a fire pit somewhere in your backyard? There’s something so relaxing about sitting around a fire pit, whether you’re in Surrey, Langley, or anywhere in the Lower Mainland. The smell and feel of the fire will make your backyard so much nicer.

3.    An oasis needs water
Hot tubs and swimming pools are a perfect complement to a backyard and a great way to make your summers more relaxing. Is there a better way to de-stress after a long day of work than by climbing into a bubbling hot tub and soaking away your troubles?

No matter what budget you’ve got, Art Knapp in Surrey is the perfect place to come and check out how we can turn your backyard into a summer oasis. Our staff wants to help you enjoy the rest of the summer in style.
